Electrician's Day: history of the holiday. Reference: Power Engineer's Day in Russia, celebrated on Friday From the history of setting the date

In 2016, the fantasy film Warcraft was released on the silver screen, based on the popular series of games (with the original title Warcraft). Many people liked the picture, which raised the question: when will the sequel come out - the movie Warcraft 2.

In fact The big question is whether Warcraft 2 will ever be made.

And the point here is not at all a lack of audience interest in the story or a lack of source material. Many fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the film's sequel. One young man even posted a tweet in which he claimed that he had seen the science fiction film 4 times in IMAX, and was now biting his nails in anticipation of the sequel. To which I even received a response from Duncan Jones, the director of the first Warcraft, who replied that he himself was looking forward to this happening, but it all depends on the decision of the production media company Legendary Entertainment.

It is also unlikely that the large number of negative reviews that the first film received will hinder the release of Warcraft 2. There are many examples when, after serious criticism of the first parts, studios released sequels that had some success.

The main thing that determines whether Warcraft 2 will be released or not is the question of money. After all, it's just business. As you know, the first film failed at the US box office, but it did well in some other countries. For example, $156 million was collected in China, and overall box office receipts amounted to more than $430 million. That is, the financial success of the Warcraft 2 film is unlikely to be ensured in the United States, but in foreign markets, for example, in Russia and China, it will be possible to collect something. And producers, before starting filming, must decide for themselves whether they are willing to take the risk of the film failing at the box office or not. We expect that sooner or later a positive decision will be made on the production of the second part of the Warcraft film.

When will Warcraft 2 be released in Russia?

Despite the fact that there is no decision yet on the start of filming and the release date of the film Warcraft 2, an approximate release date can be given. Preliminary date is May 2020. In Russia, this may well be Thursday, May 14, 2020.

Although, of course, not all parenting days fall on Saturday. So, the first parents' day after Easter in 2019, called Radonitsa, is held on Tuesday a week after Easter Sunday.

Orthodox believers celebrated Easter in 2019 on April 28, respectively Radonitsa falls on May 7, 2019.

That is, what date will Radonitsa be (parent’s day after Easter 2019):
* on Tuesday May 7, 2019

In some Russian regions, May 7, 2019 has been declared a holiday. Taking into account the May holidays, at the beginning of May 2019, residents of these regions will have 10 days off.

Eid al-Fitr in 2019 - day off or working day:

In some regions of the country, the first day of Eid al-Fitr (in 2019 - June 4) is an official non-working day and an additional day off.

The following regions of the Russian Federation are celebrating the holiday:
* Republic of Adygea.
* Republic of Bashkortostan (Bashkiria).
* The Republic of Dagestan.
* Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (Kabardino-Balkaria).
* Karachay-Cherkess Republic (Karachay-Cherkessia).
* Republic of Crimea.

What is the date for the Scarlet Sails 2019 festival in St. Petersburg:

The Scarlet Sails festive festival is held annually in St. Petersburg and is traditionally considered a holiday for all graduates of St. Petersburg schools.

Residents of the northern capital are looking forward to Scarlet Sails 2019, because the festival has now gained immense popularity among them. Why, St. Petersburg residents, a large number of guests from all over Russia and countries near and far abroad are planning to make a summer trip to St. Petersburg in order to see an exciting water show, colorful fireworks and numerous music concerts.

In the waters of the Neva, as part of the festival, a grandiose water performance is held, which includes: races on motor boats and kayaks, sea pirate battles, and also, at its apotheosis, the passage of a sailboat with scarlet sails.

The date of the Scarlet Sails festival is dedicated to the longest white night. Events are held on the Saturday closest to it, during from June 18 to June 25, with minor exceptions. The most interesting part of the events takes place on the night from Saturday to Sunday.

The traditional date for Scarlet Sails 2019 is Saturday, June 22, 2019. However, June 22 in Russia is the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow, the date of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. Therefore, the obvious decision was moving the holiday to Sunday June 23, 2019. The option of moving the festival to Friday June 21, 2019 was not suitable for the reason that since the events last 2 days, they would end at dawn on June 22, just at the time of the attack of Nazi Germany on the USSR in 1941.

That is, the date of the Scarlet Sails 2019 festival:
* on the night from Sunday June 23, 2019 to Monday June 24, 2019

The venue for the Scarlet Sails 2019 celebrations will traditionally be Palace Square in St. Petersburg and the Spit of Vasilyevsky Island.

On which channel to watch the live broadcast of the Scarlet Sails 2019 festival:

According to established tradition, the most interesting moments of the festive evening will be shown live Channel 5. The live broadcast is scheduled to begin at 22:00 .

What time are the fireworks:

The festive fireworks, also known as fireworks or pyrotechnic show, will begin at the end of the concert program, after 00:30.

And in a week, the summer national holiday of the Turkic peoples will take place in St. Petersburg -

On their professional holiday, all power engineers and workers whose activities are connected in one way or another with the energy sector accept congratulations from government officials, colleagues, family, friends and loved ones.

It is difficult to exaggerate the importance of energy in our lives, because the viability of all other sectors of the economy and comfort, warmth and light in our homes depend on it. Without energy drinks, we would freeze in the dark, deprived of many of the benefits of civilization.

Story

The date of the celebration was not chosen by chance. On this day back in 1920, the state plan GOELRO was adopted, which identified the most important stages of electrification of the entire country.

People learned about this electrification plan thanks to the famous “Ilyich light bulb,” which went down in history. This phrase began to be used in the USSR to refer to household incandescent lamps that were used without a lampshade.

A. Ignatov

The plan was designed for 10-15 years and provided for the construction of 30 power plants throughout the country with further radical reconstruction of all sectors of the national economy. In fact, it was achieved by 1931, and in 1935, when all 15 years had expired, the main indicators were exceeded three times.

The holiday itself was established by government decree decades later - in 1966. Later, on October 1, 1980, a new government decree was issued, according to which the celebration of this day was moved to the third Sunday of December.

The holiday was then moved again to December 22. But even now in some organizations throughout the country this holiday is celebrated on the 3rd Sunday of December.

Since those time immemorial, Russian energy industry has been constantly developing and improving. The emergence of such a concept as a “peaceful atom” did not let energy workers get bored - the industry developed rapidly and continues to do so to this day.

Recently, throughout the world, the interest of specialists in environmental energy sources, such as solar, wind energy, air, and so on, has grown quite strongly. Russia is no exception, as this contributes to the further growth of the potential of the energy industry.

About the profession

The energy profession has always been and will be not only one of the most important and honorable, but also one of the most significant and vital for residents of all countries and peoples.

Millions of energy workers around the world work every day and every moment to bring light, warmth and comfort to our homes.

Energy workers are engaged in the field that is associated with the generation of electricity and thermal energy. They maintain and repair equipment, networks, and supporting infrastructure.

The path to the profession begins after graduation from a specialized higher or secondary specialized educational institution. A specialist must have knowledge of physics and mathematics in order to correctly perform measurements, install and maintain devices and communications.

Representatives of this profession are quite in demand on the labor market. Despite the fact that universities produce a large number of specialists in this field, many companies and many enterprises require qualified power engineers.

Energy drinks are associated with activities hazardous to health and life. They are often forced to work in harsh climatic conditions and eliminate accidents, many of which arise due to worn-out networks.

Traditions

This holiday unites all people involved in the energy industry, everyone who works or has once worked in the energy industry. They are joined by teachers, students, graduates of specialized educational institutions, and residents of settlements for which energy production is a city-forming industry.

Despite the fact that in Russia Power Engineer’s Day is an ordinary working day, the holiday is celebrated quite solemnly both at the government level and in work collectives.

On this day, power engineers are congratulated by the country's leadership on their professional holiday. According to a good long-standing tradition, the best workers and veterans of the energy industry are celebrated on this day with high awards, certificates of honor and valuable gifts.

There are concerts and meetings, corporate parties where energy drinks are felt, many dedicate poetry and prose, songs and films to them.

For outstanding achievements, the honorary title “Honored Energy Engineer of the Russian Federation” is awarded.

Television and radio stations broadcast programs about the history of the construction of major energy facilities.

It has also become a good tradition to hold rallies and actions on this day dedicated to new, alternative energy sources and environmental protection.

The holiday is of particular importance for residents of cities that were built for service personnel of energy generating enterprises. In such populated areas, events take place on a wide scale.

Energy Worker's Day is celebrated on December 22 in other post-Soviet countries. In particular, in Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia and Belarus.

The material was prepared on the basis of open sources.

Energy Engineer's Day is traditionally celebrated on December 22. On December 22, everyone whose work involves generating, transmitting and selling electricity and heat will traditionally celebrate their holiday on equal terms.

History of the holiday Energy Engineer's Day

December 22 is significant not only because it is one of the shortest daylight hours of the year. This is not why it was declared a holiday. In 1920, this calendar date was marked by the adoption of the GOELRO plan. He later determined the path of electrification. Leading experts worked on it; it was planned to be completed in fifteen years. The plan seemed fantastic to contemporaries, but, nevertheless, it became a reality even earlier than expected. In the early 1930s, electric light came to most of the cities of the USSR.

Officially, the country's energy workers' holiday began to be celebrated in 1966, taking as the starting point the date of adoption of the GOELRO plan. But later, in 1980, by decree of the Supreme Council of the USSR it was postponed, tied to the nearest weekend. This is how two dates appeared, which sometimes coincide.

Power Engineer's Day is one of the main professional holidays. Honoring workers in the country's energy sector occurs both at the highest level and in work teams. Meetings are held, concerts are organized. Recently a new tradition has emerged.

This day marks the holding of rallies and actions at which advocates of clean ecology - environmental defenders - focus on alternative energy sources. Power Engineer's Day is not only a Russian holiday. It is celebrated on the same day as the Russian Federation in some countries - former Soviet republics, Belarusian, Ukrainian, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Armenian energy workers.

The 1920-30s were marked in the history of the country by the large-scale construction of hydroelectric and thermal power plants, which provided the developing industry with electrical energy, without which neither domestic mechanical engineering nor machine tool production would have been possible.

In the post-war period, the destroyed energy capacities were restored. And by the fifties, the USSR reached a new level in electricity production - construction began. The atomic potential is still developing; parallel to it, the process of harnessing the energy of large rivers has been going on. The modern world is impossible without electricity.

Russian energy

For a long time, Russia has held second place in the world after the United States of America in terms of the size of the Unified Energy Network. Electricity production per resident of the Russian Federation is quite comparable with the most developed countries of Western Europe. True, in Europe there are fewer losses during the transportation of electricity and less is spent on heating.

A little more than a third of the energy produced is consumed by domestic industry, and about a fifth by the residential sector. Due to the large length of the power lines, transmission losses are quite significant - more than a tenth of the total energy produced does not reach the consumer. A wide variation in the shares of industry and the residential sector is observed in different regions of the country. Thus, industry located in western Siberia has high energy intensity. The European part of the country is more densely populated, and here the residential sector consumes a significant part of the energy.

In the early 2000s, reforms of the Unified Energy System of Russia began. A wholesale electricity market and retail markets have been formed, and new entities have emerged. Shares of companies generating electrical energy appeared on the stock market. An independent structure of the Federal Grid Company was created, controlled by the state. Foreign players have also appeared on the Russian electricity market.

Today, the main fuel for generating electricity is gas. In the course of further reform, it is planned to use combined cycle gas plants, which have greater maneuverability, as well as replacing gas with coal.

Russia is one of the few countries that has a full cycle of nuclear energy. The country produces nuclear fuel. Explored uranium reserves exceed 600,000 tons. There are also large reserves of weapons-grade uranium. Russian industry produces domestically developed nuclear reactors, which operate successfully not only in Russia, but also in other countries. The most progressive development is reactors operating using fast neutron technology. They are many times more productive than reactors of previous designs.

Back in the 1980s, it was planned to significantly increase the generation of electrical energy at nuclear power plants, but due to the subsequent economic downturn, this project was postponed. Despite the fact that the reserves of proven nuclear fuel deposits in Russia are much smaller than those of gas, the production at nuclear power plants is significant. Especially in the European part of Russia, where it is over 40 percent. In total, the capacity of nuclear power plants is slightly less than a fifth of all generating capacities.

Significant volumes are generated by and. The total theoretically estimated annual energy potential of Russian rivers is about 3,000 billion kilowatt-hours.

The development of 850 billion of them is economically feasible. True, the main potential is in the northern and Far Eastern rivers, far from industrial centers and big cities. However, with enhanced development of these areas, the potential can be effectively tapped. Also, the hydroelectric energy potential of the Caucasian regions and the Urals is not fully used.

Hydroelectric power plants generate a fifth of the electricity produced. Hydroelectric power stations play a huge role in terms of leveling out fluctuations in consumption. They can go into standby mode almost painlessly and quickly gain power.

The energy potential of the seas and ocean bays is still insufficiently used. In some places the tide reaches ten meters. But there is progress in this direction too.

On the territory of Russia there is one of the largest deposits of geothermal waters on earth. It is located near the Mutnovsky volcano. All geothermal deposits developed in Russia have a total flow rate of 300,000 cubic meters per day. Of the fifty-six fields, twenty are exploited on an industrial scale. All operating geothermal power plants are located on the Kuril Islands and Kamchatka.

With the help of wind in Russia, it is theoretically possible to generate more than fifty trillion kilowatt-hours per year. It will be economically feasible to develop 260 billion of them. And this is a third of the capacity of all power plants in Russia. The most profitable in terms of energy production using wind are the Pacific coast, the Arctic, and mountainous regions.

In the Caspian Sea and the Sea of Azov, in Primorye, it is advisable to build powerful complexes to cover the regions’ own needs. In the steppes, wind power plants serving individual farms are more appropriate.

If we consider the dates of professional holidays, we can see two options for how they are established. The first is that the holiday is established at the legislative level on a certain day of the week of a specific month. For example, the third Sunday in August, the second Saturday in October, and so on. The dates of such professional holidays are called “floating”.

As for what date is Energy Engineer's Day in 2017, the date does not change from year to year, that is, at the legislative level it is established according to a specific second scheme, when a specific number is assigned to the holiday, which from year to year is an omen arrival Thus, December 22 is Energy Engineer’s Day in 2017, what date is it in Russia.

Whom should we congratulate?

In 2017, the holiday date, December 22, falls on a Tuesday. Even if it is a working day, the middle of the week and the time as close as possible to the New Year, you must not forget to congratulate people for whom the date is a professional holiday. These are friends, relatives and acquaintances whose professions are directly or indirectly related to the generation, transmission, and sale of electrical and thermal energy.

From the history of establishing the date

We know that Energy Engineer's Day in 2017 is celebrated on December 22. This has been the case since 1920, when at the 8th All-Russian Congress of Soviets this holiday was established in memory of the day of the State Plan for Electrification of Russia, which was briefly called “GOELRO”, and with that name it remained in history.

True, as for the dates of celebration, they differed. In 1988, it was decided to celebrate Energy Worker's Day on the third Sunday of December. In modern Russia, this first approach to establishing dates was maintained for a long time. But energy workers began to complain that due to the floating date of the celebration it was inconvenient to hold, and many people completely forgot about this event. Then a new decision was made that Energy Engineer’s Day in 2017, which date will be celebrated every year, is December 22. Relevant on the holiday table.

About the meaning of the holiday

Separately, we can talk endlessly about the meaning of each professional holiday. First of all, of course, this is an incentive for every employee in a certain field. The incentive to feel especially acutely once a year how important their work is for the country as a whole.

It turns out that the main meaning of Energy Worker's Day is to pay tribute, to show respect and respect to workers in the energy industry. Their work, of course, is hard, but it is thanks to it that we have light and warmth in our houses and apartments, at work and in public institutions. This holiday is aimed at expanding the public’s understanding of the energy profession and telling them that it is prestigious and worthy to be one.

Another interesting fact is related to the fact that on December 22, Energy Engineer’s Day is celebrated in 2017, what date. This is the day of the winter solstice, that is, the shortest day of the year, as well as the longest night. It is on December 22 that in our country, and throughout the world, the work of power engineers is especially in demand. So, those who are on duty on this day do not need to be greatly distracted by congratulations; it is better to postpone the festive events to the weekend. In honor of the holiday, you can do it.

We talk about Energy Engineer's Day in 2017, what date it is in December and in honor of what exactly this professional day was established. It’s clear that on Energy Engineer’s Day, energy workers are congratulated, but what exactly do representatives of this profession do?

Date in 2019: December 22nd, Sunday.

Energy Engineer's Day is not a celebration of the first light bulb. This is a celebration of progress and forward movement. Man has always strived for light, and modern energy capabilities have allowed this dream to come true. But so that the illuminations that are already familiar to us continue to please the eye, a person can habitually communicate online and brew his favorite coffee in a coffee machine in the morning, the country’s economy develops, and innovative developments are brought to life, they work without weekends and energy holidays, which have been customary for many years congratulations by the end of December.

Who's celebrating?

Today it is hard to imagine that there were times when the only source of light was a torch, and later a kerosene lamp. That same Ilyich light bulb really brought not only light to the homes of ordinary people, but also hope for the bright future that the communists promised them. Further development of energy proceeded at a rapid pace, which was required by the economy and industry.

Huge hydroelectric power stations and thermal power stations were built. These were gigantic construction projects. After all, it was thanks to the work of such stations that the young country could count on being supplied with a sufficient amount of electricity. But a lot of it was really needed - industry was developing at a frantic pace.

But even such incredible and simply gigantic stations could not fully meet all needs. There is a need for new, more affordable sources of electricity.

And nuclear energy technologies appear just in time. At first glance, this was a breakthrough in the industry. No one could imagine what disasters a person could face. The memories of the Chernobyl disaster and the troubles at Fokushima are still fresh in our minds. But this does not mean that people involved in the energy industry have given up.

Today, green energy is a priority. Scientists are looking for ways to produce alternative electricity. As you can see, modern energy is a multifaceted and diverse industry. In Russia, more than 2 million people are involved in it. These are people of completely different professions and profiles. But they are all involved in production, supply, and scientific developments related to energy. It is these people who will celebrate their professional holiday in December, when it is customary to celebrate Power Engineer’s Day in Russia.

history of the holiday

The holiday first appeared in history back in 1966. And the date when Energy Engineers Day was celebrated fell exactly on December 22. There are several explanations for the choice of this particular date for celebrating the occasion. First of all, it was on December 22, back in 1922, that the fateful decision was made to electrify the entire country. This was GERLO's plan, designed for the next three five-year plans. The reconstruction of the national economy proceeded at a frantic pace. During this time, 30 stations were built, including 10 large hydroelectric power stations, which helped reach the production of 8.8 billion kilowatts per year.

But romantics see a different meaning in choosing this date to celebrate Energy Worker Day. After all, it is December 22 that has the shortest daylight hours, when lighting is especially important.

However, in 1980 the holiday was postponed. For many years they tried to force it to be celebrated on the third Sundays of December. However, the workers themselves, out of habit, congratulated each other on their professional triumph on the more usual date, December 22. And only in 2015 was historical justice returned. And to the question, when is Energy Engineer’s Day in 2019 in Russia, we can now safely say that everything is also on December 22.

Congratulations to the energy workers

Our dear electricians and power engineers, nuclear scientists and scientists, we must not allow the people of our country to know what an electricity shortage is. We really hope for your selfless work, for your efforts, which allow millions of our compatriots to enjoy their favorite programs, sleep in warm beds and cook their dinner without a fire. And for this I bow to you and thank you.

Happy energy holiday to you, friend.

It will be bad without you, and not at all suddenly.

The boiler will not turn on,

The mobile phone will not charge either.

The microwave won't turn on

No TV, no oven.

Our whole family will freeze,

We can't do it without you.
